Congratulations to the class of 2019!
Results day was a great day to celebrate this year with Xaverian students surpassing expectations to achieve some excellent exam results and secure places at some top destinations. With excellent progression onto Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities as well as specialist progression onto Medicine and Science, the teachers and staff are all exceptionally proud of the achievements of our students. Both A level and Vocational students have secured excellent progression.
This year Xaverian students have helped the college achieve better grades than ever before. The number of high grades is up, specifically A*s which have increased by 58% across all college subjects.

- 183 Distinction Grades awarded
- 37 courses with 100% Pass Rates
- Over 50% High Grades across our A Level and Vocational Programmes
- 70% High Grades on Vocational Courses
- Increased successful progression onto Medicine and Oxbridge
- 1350 High Grades Awarded
- 2000+ C grade or higher (or equivalent)
16 subjects secured over 50% high grades including our Art based courses which are Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Photography and Textiles as well as English Literature, the EPQ, Film Studies, French, German, and Spanish plus Business, History, Law, Physics, Media and Music. We are exceptionally proud of,
- French A level students for gaining 84% A*- B as well as German and Spanish Students who also secured significant high grades with German securing 100% A*-B
- Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Communication & Textiles students for gaining 73.6%, 72.2%, 72%, & 76% A*-B grades respectively.
- Students who completed an EPQ who together achieved 82.5% A*-B.
- English Literature students achieved 51.6% high grades and History students secured 50% A*-B.
- Extended Diploma students in Applied Science, Business, Health & Social Care, IT and Sport for securing 100% pass and 63% High Grades of Distinctions and Distinction*s.
Furthermore as well as the A level subjects listed above Drama & Theatre and Ancient History students also secured A* to C grades for over 75% of their students.
Vocational students also have much reason to celebrate! Across our single, double and triple options this year we awarded 183 students with Distinction or Distinction* grades which includes some double and triple distinction grades. Most of these students will now progress onto University. Xaverian students once again achieved 100% pass rates in all 5 of our vocational courses which include, Business, Health and Social Care, ICT, Applied Science and Sport.
Oxbridge & Medics, Dentists & Vets
Further to our results success we have had an increased success from our Oxbridge and MDV programmes. The number of students progressing onto these prestigious courses from Xaverian has increased. 13 Students are progressing onto Oxford or Cambridge and more students than ever are progressing onto Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry or Veterinary Science. These include Joseph Karran from St Bede’s who progresses onto Cambridge University to study Medicine after studying Chemistry, English Literature, an Extended Project Qualification & Mathematics
