Music Students Study Oliver!
Music Director Andy Levendis and his music students went to see the world famous musical ‘Oliver!’ at the Palace Theatre, Manchester. Vividly bringing to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more, Lionel Bart's sensational score includes Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You've Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I'd Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more.
The musical starred one of the country’s favourite comedy actors Neil Morrissey. Neil starred as the cunning, mischievous and comical character of Fagin; a truly gripping performance. Neil Morrissey is probably best known for his role as 'Tony' in the hugely successful TV series 'Men Behaving Badly'.
The students have studied several numbers from ‘Oliver!’ as part of their AS music studies. They thoroughly enjoyed the performance and it has cemented the work undertaken in the classroom.
