Pastoral Care

'the aim of the college is to ensure that each individual realises their full potential'

Our students are at the heart of all our work at Xaverian. From the point at which you apply a Pastoral Manager and Course Advisor will be assigned to you and will look after you throughout your time with us. From discussing your course options on an individual basis and explaining college procedures pre-enrolment to helping you plan your next step after college they will work to make sure you achieve the very best you can and are happy at Xaverian.

The tutorial system

After enrolling at Xaverian you will join a tutor group of approximately 22 students led by your personal tutor.

The college is very proud of our pastoral system and you will find that throughout your time at college you will receive all the help you need. Central to that is your personal tutor.

Your tutor is there to monitor and support you, make sure you stay on target and help with any difficulties that may arise.

You will have a regular communication slot, as well as a longer tutorial session once a week. Your personal tutor will meet with you to give you general guidance and support, to review your progress and deal with problems relating to your course programme.

We aim to help you organise yourself and your work. Each student receives a USB pen-drive and everyone is offered support with study skills such as work organisation and scheduling, essay writing and exam techniques.

Your Pastoral Manager

Your pastoral manager will oversee your time at Xaverian, and will remain with you throughout your time at the college. They will work closely with your personal tutor. They will support you, advise you throughout your time at Xaverian and will guide you towards making the right decisions for your future. They will;

  • Arrange your course and monitor your progress throughout your time at Xaverian.
