A very warm welcome to Xaverian Sixth Form College.  We are delighted that you are considering joining us to continue your education.

There are many reasons why I feel Xaverian is an outstanding college, but first and foremost is our commitment to supporting you to develop intellectually, spiritually and socially. We have a reputation established over many years for delivering academic success which was recognised in our last inspection when the college was graded outstanding in all areas of the report.  The college was subsequently awarded Beacon College status.  Beacon Colleges share their expertise and good practices to help drive up the performance of the whole sector to the high level they have attained.

In August 2010 our students celebrated their best ever results. From analysis of this performance the Department for Education has recently published information which places Xaverian as the 7^th most successful Sixth Form College in the country for the achievement of its young people.  This places it within the top 3% of all colleges nationally and 1^st in Manchester. In August 2011 I am delighted to say that our students have exceeded even that performance.

We strive to support our students to progress successfully to higher education and employment and we are delighted that over 500 students are moving onto university and 12 students have been accepted to study at Oxford and Cambridge for September 2011 joining 20  former students currently studying there.

Above all Xaverian is a true community, and students at the college can expect support from teachers, personal tutors, careers advisors, college counsellors and many others throughout their time here.

Inspectors identified that “the College offers students a happy, welcoming and spiritually open environment in which they feel safe to explore their own values and that of others.” Within this environment we hope that you too, will be very happy during your time at Xaverian if you choose to join us for the next stage of your life.
