Facilities

Victoria Park Day Nursery’s fully refurbished and extended listed building is specifically designed to be perfect for children.

The nursery building consists of:

  • A secure main entrance, activated by an intercom and internal monitor.
  • Entrance lobby and waiting area, with family notice board where up to date and current news about the nursery and information leaflets are available, also linked with Manchester Sure Start.
  • Cloak room for the children’s outdoor wear and belongings.
  • The sensory area used for a quieter activities exploring sensory and natural equipment in smaller groups accompanied by the child's keyworker.
  • Baby Room with a separate changing area, providing an individual, stimulating atmosphere, all linking to the 'Birth to Three Framework'. Access to covered decking area for outdoor play, for children aged between 6 months and 2 years old.
  • Over 2s room offering activities and equipment to encourage the childre to investigate and explore their environment, whilst learning through their experiences and through play. These are linked to birth to three matters. Equipment is also thoughtfully set out bto provide the Foundation stage of the National Curriculum effectively and interestingly for children aged between 3 and 5 years.
  • Creative area used by the over 2s which contains free access to sand, water paints and many resources to allow children to explore their individual creativity.
  • There is a kitchen where meals are freshly prepared each day, toilet facilities specifically designed for small children and a wheelchair access toilet.
 
 
 
  • Outside we have an enclosed area enabling the children to play safely. There is excellent fixed play equipment installed on a soft rubber floor, a grassy area and a covered paved area for all weather play, as well as wheeled toys such as bikes, trikes and cars. We continue the learing experiences outdoors, encouraging the children to explore and investigate through their senes and abilties.
  • Pre-school children also have the opportunity to participate in "Fitness and Fun" once a week in the main college sports hall. They are encouraged to have the freedom of a large open space to explore and experminent through movement
