Victoria Park Day Nursery will implement the following procedure whenever a child appears to be poorly or requires any form of medication.

If your child requires any form of medication parents must complete a consent form before any member of staff can administer treatment to your child. Calpol or paracetamol are the only forms of non-prescription medication that the nursery will administer.

Any child or children who arrive at nursery suffering with any suspected contagious infection such as diarrhoea, vomiting, conjunctivitis etc. will not be allowed to stay. The parents/carers will be contacted to collect their child as soon as possible. All children with these symptoms are potentially infectious and should not return to nursery unless symptom-free for more than 24 hours. If your child is prescribed antibiotics they can not return to nursery until 24 hours following the first dose.
