Describe Xaverian in three words:
Different, warm, unique
Proudest moment:
My proudest moment at Xaverian would have been competing in the law competition, but it was probably working for the best grades I could have got.
Favourite subject:
All my teachers are so lovely, helpful and they make all lessons exciting, but my favourite subject is law. I am passionate about it and I find it interesting. My teacher makes lessons captivating and everyone is engaged. However, I do love the creative side of drama where I can express myself and have fun.
Greatest memory:
My greatest memory at Xaverian is performing my drama exam and watching my class mates performances. We had worked really hard and our hard work paid off (hopefully). I was super proud of everyone and it was a really nice day.
Advice for students starting in September:
Be yourself, work hard and have fun.

Greatest achievement:
My greatest achievement was my perseverance during online learning.
Advice for students starting in September:
Stay on top of your work load and really revise year one content so you aren’t overwhelmed in year two.

Subjects:
Describe Xaverian in three words:
Enthusiastic; rewarding; compassionate
Proudest moment:
My proudest moment has got to be when I got invited for 2 interviews at The University of Oxford after passing the admissions exam! It was a gruelling process but I learnt a lot from the experience, and the skills I acquired throughout the admissions process are ones that I can use in the future.
Favourite subject:
History because I enjoy learning about the past and drawing parallels to present events such as the USA presidential elections. It’s really interesting to identify the historical events and trends and find out what has/hasn’t changed over the past centuries in terms of politics, the economy and society as a whole.
Greatest memory:
My greatest memory has got to be the most amazing set of friends I made that have helped me throughout my journey. I really couldn’t have done it without them and I will always be grateful for their support!
Advice for students starting in September:
Enjoy it as much as you can, make lots of memories but also work hard! If you develop a good routine from the beginning, it will be easier for you to manage your time effectively both inside and outside of college. Also remember that your teachers are here to help you so if you’re struggling, ask them for help! 🙂
How do you feel about your results?
I am still in so much shock because I never thought I would get these results, but I’m very excited to start my new adventure at Edinburgh doing a subject I truly love!

Proudest moment:

Accounting because it’s mentally challenging and I enjoy that aspect. Furthermore Miss Reding’s passion for Accounting made me like it even more.
Greatest memory:
My greatest memory at Xaverian would have to be the first week of college. All of my teacher’s passion for my A-levels subject made me like the subjects more and they helped me embark on the course by being patient and friendly.
Advice for students starting in September:
Stay on top of your work from the start as this will make your life so much easier when it comes to end of unit tests and mocks.
How do you feel about your results?
I feel extremely proud of myself of being able to achieve such amazing grades under the circumstances, it has been quite challenging but having seen my results now, I’m glad my hard work has paid off. My teacher’s continuous support and resilience has played a key factor in my results.

The Blue Coat School
Subjects:
Describe Xaverian in three words:
Supportive, challenging, encouraging
Proudest moment:
My proudest moment was receiving full marks on my Psychology end of topic assessment for “Social Influence”
Favourite subject:
Psychology is by far my favourite subject. It challenges me to think outside the box, focus on topics I haven’t even considered before, and gain insight into how other minds, as well as my own, work.
Greatest memory:
My greatest memory of Xaverian College is my first day. After coming here by myself from my secondary school, I soon met my current best friend, and later had one of my most memorable Philosophy lessons; in which the whole class sat in a Socratic Circle and partook in a fascinating discussion on Ancient Greek philosophers.
Advice for students starting in September:
My first tip would be to read ahead. This prepares you for the lesson, and enables you to think of any questions you want answers to, creating a dynamic working environment. My second tip is to enjoy yourself! Take challenge as a positive thing, and try to enjoy the learning process. It won’t always be easy, but it will always be rewarding.
How do you feel about your results?
I'm really pleased with my exam results; I put the work in and was well supported in my efforts by my wonderful teachers. I’m endlessly thankful to Xaverian College for helping me actualise my dream of going to a Russell Group University!

Subjects:
Describe Xaverian in three words:
Balanced, vibrant and welcoming.
Proudest moment:
My proudest moment at Xaverian was when I received my predicted grades, as I knew I would be able to apply for the course and universities I wanted to. It was was also confirmation that my teachers had noticed my effort and hard work.
Favourite subject:
My favourite subject is Graphics, this is because I see it as a hobby and this makes it much easier to achieve high grades. Having to put the work into something that you enjoy doing doesn’t feel like studying.
Greatest achievement:
My greatest achievement at Xaverian was being able to maintain a good social life despite the high work load and pressure. This is because it’s very easy to fade away from your friends and loved ones when you’re desperate to do well in your studies. Also, many of my favourite memories at college came from completing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award and I would highly recommend taking it up.
Advice for students starting in September:
Find a work-life balance, putting the work in is crucial to achieving your goals but finding time to do the things you like is just as important.
