When there’s so much going on it’s important to stay refuelled and refreshed.
And Xaverian has left no stone unturned when it comes to keeping you fed and hydrated. We’ve even got our own branch of Costa Coffee!
It’s important to be inspired while you’re grabbing lunch, so we’ve splashed out on a colourful new look for these dining zones.
You’ll find Café X in the common room in the main building, while The Pavilion has stunning views across the lawns to Firwood, Ryken and Mayfield. Did we mention Xaverian College has a truly beautiful campus?
Why The Pavilion? You might ask. It’s named after a building that once stood to the lawns’ west – when cricket was a regular feature of Xaverian life.
If all that history has left you hungry rest assured we’ve got you covered at Café X and The Pavilion.
Breakfast is served from 8.30am. Go all-out on a full cooked or indulge in a sausage or bacon barm. We’ve got lighter options covered, too, including cereal and toast.
Lunch is from 11.30am. The menu is extensive and changes daily but if you’re lucky you might find yourself face to face with Xaverian’s house special – lasagne. Friday it’s fish and chips, of course, and on any day, you might fancy a pasta bake, noodles, or go easy with salads, sandwiches and jacket spuds.
Dive into a cheesecake or jelly for afters. Or if you must, fruit. But don’t come to us for recommendations. Just a spoon and another slice of cheesecake.
You’ll find many students hanging out between lessons at Costa Coffee.
It’s open from 8am during the week – so as you can imagine, it’s also a popular spot to meet up before the day begins. We believe they sell herbal teas and fruit juice but to be honest, you’ll find us in Victoria Park running off too many of Costa’s legendary hot chocolates and Danish pastries with the obligatory blob of cream on our nose.
