Healthy body, healthy mind.

Fresh air, fun and fitness are so important to your study success at Xaverian.

We recognise the links between mental and physical health, which is why we’ve invested in all kinds of exercise and recreational facilities to help you take a break from working hard.

So how do we support your sport and get you feeling fantastic?

ON CAMPUS

  • Sports hall with markings for badminton, basketball, netball,
    volleyball, five a side football.
  • Fitness suite with plenty of cardio and resistance equipment.
  • Regular relaxation classes such as yoga and tai chi.

If you’ve got a passion for sport, as a Xaverian student you’ll be able to access lots of training and playing facilities across the city.

BASKETBALL

Manchester Giants Academy

Basketball players with potential to play professionally will be considered for our Manchester Giants Academy which combines study and training at the National Basketball Performance Centre with one of the UK’s best teams.

FOOTBALL

Try out to join one of our two men’s 11-a-side football teams to play in the Northwest Colleges League, Association of Colleges’ Sport National Cup, The Manchester Schools and County Cup competitions. The teams play a minimum of 17 fixtures a year and home games are played at Whalley Range Football Club on Wednesday afternoons.

• Indoor (five-a-side) football in our sports hall
• 4G pitches at nearby Platt Lane are available to Xaverian students
• Grass pitches at Whalley Range Football Club

Be ready to work hard, make sure you enjoy it and always be able to express your opinion it’s important and make sure you have fun!
