Learning support

We want every student to make the grade.

That’s why we have a Learning Support Team. They’re here so everyone can get the help needed to study successfully.

If you identify a learning difficulty and/or disability during enrolment, we’ll contact you ahead of your course starting to discuss requirements for support or additional tutoring.

If applicable, we’ll also work with you as a Xaverian student to apply for exam concessions such as extra time, readers or scribes.

There may also be funding available if equipment is required to support your study.

Study support sessions

Xaverian has specialist tutors providing additional learning support which may include:

  • An initial assessment of Maths and English skills
  • One-to-one guidance in a range of academic skills
  • Guidance for students whose first language is not English
  • In-class education support for those with specific needs
  • Learning material tailored to individual requirements
  • Referral for specialist assessment or to specialist agencies
  • Study skills such as essay writing, revision, maintaining concentration, notetaking and exams
