We care for your emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
You’ll belong to a Pastoral Studies group throughout your time at college.
During your Pastoral Studies sessions you’ll learn study and life skills essential in higher education and your career.
Pastoral Studies helps you support and contribute to the Xaverian mission of the college. You’ll meet at Firwood, the college’s hub. Firwood houses our chaplaincy areas and pastoral bases – and Costa Coffee.
We’re a friendly and accessible bunch here at Xaverian College. And you should feel comfortable to chat with anyone on campus.
But it’s also nice to have a familiar face, someone who understands your progress, expectations and aspirations.
That’s why you’ll have your own Pastoral Manager.
While your tutors will provide subject-specific guidance, your Pastoral Manager will be on hand with advice about every aspect of college life.
When it comes to university and job applications, your Pastoral Manager will be here to help. And when you want to talk about your future, your Pastoral Manager will lend you an ear.
Pastoral Managers are also Xaverian’s parent and guardian liaison.
We ask on your Xaverian course application form for your preferred career.
They demonstrate both commitment by our amazing students and equally, expertise in teaching by our tutors, who are devoted to the whole success of every member of the Xaverian community.
What do we mean by whole success? First, let’s look at the results that have helped our students accomplish their academic ambitions.
In 2020: Through the COVID-19 pandemic and successive lockdowns, 2020 was a challenging year for everyone.
But our students overcame the challenge to achieve deserved success.
Before the disruption Xaverian students were on track to achieve some of our best ever results. Despite COVID-19, many of our students continued to excel and progressed to Russell Group Universities including specialist programmes in Medicine and Science.
Both A Level and Vocational students have secured excellent progression.
It’s thanks our strengths of resilience and dedication, that together as a team we’ve been able to achieve what our students deserve.

We’ve also included recent results on course pages.
We know future medics, dentists and vets choose Xaverian based on our reputation and annual attainment. And there’s no greater feeling than to see those students – and all their peers – progress on their desired pathways.
But whole success is about much more than grades.
Success to Xaverian means the person is nourished and empowered to be more independent in every aspect of their life.
This not only stands them in great stead to be successes in their next steps towards a rewarding and exciting career but the life lessons we teach, and our Xaverian values, provide the student with confidence. They will be respected members of their community and family for the decades to come.
The real result of Xaverian study and enrichment is the whole human performance, attitude and devotion to service and duty in pursuit of social justice.
It’s an honour to play a part in the development of Xaverian alumni as we all strive to be our best for ourselves and therefore for everyone else in our lives.
