options after xaverian college

Our Careers Team ran an excellent event for parents about progression after college and answered questions such as:

  • When do you need to apply to uni?
  • When are uni Open Days?
  • How does student finance work?
  • Do you think apprenticeships are a good idea?

Did you miss our Options after Xaverian College Parents Information Evening?

No worries. You can catch up on the event here:

apprenticeships

What is an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are now available up to degree level and beyond. An apprenticeship is a job with training, meaning you can earn money whilst you gain a nationally recognised qualification.

What are the benefits?

  • Earning a salary and paid holiday
  • Excellent progression opportunities (further study or promotion)
  • Increased future earning potential – apprentices enjoy marked salary increases on
    finishing their training

university

University is still one of the most popular destinations for our students, with over 90% progressing to university after Xaverian College (leavers data 2020). But is it the right choice for everyone? There is lots of information out there to help students decide whether university is right for them, and if it is, which one to go to:

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE COST?

Money is a concern for a lot of parents and guardians when they start thinking about university, but it doesn’t have to be. There is a lot of support out there for university students and lots of websites that help explain how student finance works:
