Assignment deadlines chaotic? Not sure what to write in your report? Evaluation skills get you in a bother? This workshop will look at support around areas that can boost your transferable skills, and give small group support to help with assignments.

Come a long and have fun making art – no skill required! Working in the art studios, we will experiment with drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and craft techniques. An opportunity to be creative, learn new skills and techniques and just enjoy making art.

Caricatures are drawings/ illustrations in which particular aspects of a subject (usually a person) are exaggerated to create a comic effect. Politicians, historical figures, celebrities, sports figures etc. are portrayed through the exaggeration of the natural features, which gives a humorous touch. Come and learn different approaches and techniques, and have some fun. Open to students of all abilities.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DoE) Gold Award supports your work towards attaining competency through extra-curricular activities in skills such as communication, commitment, leadership and teamwork.
If English is not your first language and you would like to attend additional English to help you improve, come along to an ESOL session. This is for students of all abilities. Your English will be assessed and then we will plan suitable activities to help and support you.

The human rights group exists to defend the rights of some of the most vulnerable people in the world and in our local community. Throughout the world people are imprisoned for their political views, their religious beliefs and for many other reasons without trial or due process. As a group we will speak up for those who seem to have no voice and we will campaign on their behalf.

This an opportunity to look at the work of one of the most rebellious poets in English – William Blake. We will explore the Romantic contexts that influenced Blake’s work and the qualities of his ‘visionary’ outlook. It’s just for fun but it might develop your understanding of other aspects of literature and help you if you are applying for English at university.

Examining and studying in depth a variety of literary texts in an advanced and complex way

Students can engage in formal speech-making which will be accredited by the Association of Speakers’ Clubs, a national organisation that enables people to become confident and proficient with public speaking. It will also encompass the ability for debate between two proposers and subsequently, seconders of a motion.

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of sci/fi and fantasy. What are you into? Graphic novels, urban fantasy, sci/fi, horror, gothic – books, TV, films, podcasts – whatever you want. A monthly meetup with like minded people. We will democratically choose a monthly book or graphic novel and where possible tie into a film/podcast/tv series. We’ll meet up and chat about opinions, likes/dislikes, make recommendations and fall deep into the rabbit hole of everything which is strange, unique and wonderfully weird. So whether its STP, Sandman, Aaronovitch, Tolkien, GoT, Marvel, Hogwarts or space opera’s, you’ll find your home with us.
