The campus

What’s not to like about the study places and wide-open spaces of Xaverian College? If you’ve never before visited the campus, you’re not just in for a treat – but also a transformative experience.

We can’t put into words just what a special place we have in store for you. And believe us, we’ve tried. We’ve even had the English department give it a go, and they’re among the smartest wordsmiths we’ve ever met.

We’re not merely waxing lyrical when we say this is a place of incredible calm, peace, tranquillity. An idyll just minutes’ walk from the centre of one of the world’s great cities.

But the Xaverian College campus is also a place of excitement, challenge, drive and dynamism. It’s a place that changes not only with the seasons, but every academic year. Students bring to Xaverian a sense of wonder, and what if. And those passions and ambitions are realised in the study spaces both remarkably old and new, and the magnificent sweeping courtyard where there’s plenty of grass for students to stretch out on those endless spring and summer days, contemplate the world around us, and ahead, and make bold plans for a future of opportunity.

A few of our
favourite spots

Ward Hall

(previously the US Embassy Northern Outpost in World War Two) has been transformed to inspire the creative success of students passionate about Art, Graphic Communication, Photography, and Textiles. It also features extensive film and media facilities, a cine room where you can organise film afternoons, and brand-new classrooms for Criminology, Classical Civilisation, Law, Sociology, and History courses.

Birtles building

Sport, Geography, Music and Drama students can look forward to learning in the new-look Birtles building. Come inside to find drama and music studios, rehearsal rooms, a recording suite and computer labs. And Xaverian is about keeping both our bodies and minds inclined, which is why in Birtles you’ll also find a fully equipped sports hall and fitness suite.

OUR NEWEST ADDITION

We’ve just added the finishing touches to a state-of-the-art facility that’s home to Applied courses, including Health and Social Care and ICT. Xaverian is proud to offer both academic and technical qualifications so students can design study around their future ambitions.

Take a LOOK

We’re bursting to show you what’s in store at Xaverian, in the leafy location of Victoria Park, Rusholme.

But before you take a tour of the Xaverian College campus through the wonders of the world wide web, we wanted to share with you some of our favourite spots on the Xaverian College campus.

Before starting college, I wish I had known that college is not just about preparing you for further education. College is a time in which you should study hard and focus on where you want to be in the future, but college is also about getting involved in projects that interest you for fun, not just as a career pathway, and making memories with so many new and wonderful people. It’s important to commit a lot of time and effort to your subjects and study, but it’s just as equally important to take some time away from work and do other things that bring you happiness and relaxation too.
