Our Schools Liaison Team are passionate about supporting young people and ensuring they have access to as much information as possible when it comes to their 16+ education. We are committed to building new relationships, along with maintaining and developing our current ones.

Meet the team

A range of dedicated staff from across the College work closely with high schools across Greater Manchester to provide guidance, support, and a smooth transition into Xaverian College. While you may meet a variety of individuals during events, visits, or activities, the key staff you’re most likely to get to know well are:

Olivia Kavanagh
Olivia Kavanagh
Marketing and Schools Liaison Manager

“One of the things I love most about working with high schools is the opportunity to support young people at such an exciting stage of their journey. Every school is different, and every student has their own aspirations, so being able to help them explore their options and discover what truly inspires them is incredibly rewarding. Building strong relationships with schools, meeting students where they are, and watching their confidence grow as they learn more about their future pathways is what makes my role so meaningful. It’s a privilege to be part of that process and to help make their transition to college a positive and empowering experience.”

Admissions and Student Recruitment Officer

“Leaving secondary school is the first opportunity most students are given to really take their futures into their own hands, and it is so exciting to be able to support students through this process. My favourite part of my job is giving young people from all backgrounds the guidance, reassurance and confidence to make an informed decision about their options that feels right for them. Navigating the admissions process can be challenging, so working alongside local schools to ensure a smooth transition and that every individual student’s needs are met is central to everything we do.”

They are your main point of contact, here to answer questions, offer personalised advice, and help you explore everything the College has to offer.

Here’s some of the ways we can work with you:

We can offer a range of activities designed to help your pupils make important decisions about their future. We can also help your school achieve some of the key Gatsby Benchmark outcomes and, depending on group size, preferred location and time of year, activities can be tailored to your needs.

School Assembly Presentation
Our staff are happy to come to your school assembly to give a presentation to pupils on being a student at Xaverian College and their applicant journey during Year 10 and 11.

Our Roadshow is growing from year to year and we are supporting more school events than ever before, including careers fairs, parents’ evenings and mock interview sessions.

As the application deadline approaches, we can come to your school to support Year 11s to check their applications and give advice on ways they can improve their application to give them the best chance of being offered a place.

We are pleased to offer personalised campus tours for school staff and pupils and their families. The tours can be undertaken throughout the year and are ideal if pupils are unable to attend our Open Days or Taster Days. They are also a great way to support transition to college.

We are now offering schools the opportunity for our teaching staff to come into your school and deliver one of our Subject Workshops. These can vary between subjects but essentially they are taster sessions and interactive workshops to enable your students to get a flavour of what the subject is like to study and find out about future pathways.

Every July, we welcome several schools to take part in our Year 10 Taster Days, designed to provide an opportunity for pupils to experience a typical day at Xaverian and start thinking about their post-16 options.
