“I think every single topic we cover is so incredibly interesting, which is down to our knowledgeable teachers. If it weren’t for them, I’m not sure I would have made my decision to study Psychology further so quickly! The opportunities I’ve been given are countless and I’ll never forget my experiences at Xaverian.
We have regular guest speakers, including psychologists, who teach us loads of things about body language, and talks from practising clinical and health psychologists. We have a psychology fact of the week and this leads into a class discussion on the topic. We have already covered topics such as obedience, conformity, relationships and, this week, our fact and subsequent debate was around Schizophrenia. We write regular essays that we are assessed on and, because our teachers are examiners, we get great feedback that we know will help in our final exams. We will be taking part in a trip to Shrewsbury Prison, where we will take part in a tour, educational activities and have the opportunity for some self-guided discovery of various themes linked to our studies.”
