Xaverian College, renowned for its vibrant and diverse student community, celebrated its annual Community Culture Day on Wednesday 5th July. The event was a resounding success, bringing together students and staff from various cultural backgrounds to showcase their traditions, engage in exciting activities, and foster a deeper sense of unity and appreciation.
From the early morning hours, the campus buzzed with anticipation as colourful decorations adorned every corner. The day kicked-off with an opening ceremony that brought together the whole College community to celebrate the achievements of this academic year before live bands and talented musicians were invited to the stage to showcase their talents.
Throughout the day, the Campus transformed into a lively hub of cultural exploration. Numerous stalls were set-up, each representing a different country or region. Students and staff members showcased their heritage through delicious food, captivating artwork, traditional dress, and engaging displays. Workshops were conducted, where participants learned various traditional crafts such as origami, henna art and calligraphy.
Staff and students were also welcomed to take part in exciting activities, including sporting games, talent shows, giant board games and treasure hunts to name a few, before taking a moment to strike a pose with friends in a tropical-themed photo booth.
Reflecting on the event, Teachers and Xaverian Xtras Co-Leads, Prashant Duggal and Ged Marciniak, said: “Community Culture Day is the highlight in the College events calendar. It’s incredible to see how our diverse community comes together, celebrates each other’s cultures, and creates an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. It’s such a fun-filled way to end what has been an incredibly busy year and an opportunity to make unforgettable memories! We wish all students a summer filled with joy and relaxation.”
