Xaverian College proudly marked International Women’s Month 2026 with a dynamic programme of events, celebrating the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across a range of fields. Organised by the College’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) team, this year’s activities brought students and staff together to learn, reflect and be inspired.
The celebrations began on Monday 9th March with the launch of an Inspirational Role Model Board, an interactive display which encouraged students to engage with stories of influential women from across history and modern society, sparking conversation and reflection within the College community.
On Thursday 12th March, students had the opportunity to hear from former Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson. Joanne shared insights from her groundbreaking leadership journey, discussing the challenges she has faced and the importance of representation in public life. Her talk resonated strongly with students, inspiring many to consider their own potential to lead and create change.
The celebrations continued on Monday 16th March with the Inspirational Women Trail, which ran across Campus. This highlighted notable women from diverse backgrounds, encouraging students to explore and discover powerful stories of achievement as they moved through their day.
On Friday 20th March, Apprentice Star winner Sian Gabbidon delivered an engaging and motivational session. Drawing on her experiences in business and entrepreneurship, Sian spoke candidly about perseverance, creativity and the value of believing in one’s ambitions.
Students were further inspired on Thursday 26th March by alumna Christina Taylor, now a successful dance company entrepreneur. Christina reflected on her journey from Xaverian student to industry professional, offering valuable advice and encouragement to those looking to pursue creative careers.
The month concluded on Tuesday 31st March with the Inspirational Women Awards. This event recognised members of the Xaverian community, nominated by their teachers, who have made a positive impact, embodying the values of leadership, kindness and empowerment.
Throughout the month, the College community embraced the opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements while reinforcing a shared commitment to equality and inclusion. The programme not only highlighted inspiring role models but also empowered all students at Xaverian to reflect on their own aspirations and the role they can play in shaping a more inclusive future.
Xaverian College continues to champion diversity, equality and inclusion, ensuring that initiatives like International Women’s Month remain a vital and impactful part of College life.
