Towards the end of our Open Day on Saturday 10th October 2026, there was an altercation involving three young visitors, who are not students at the College. Staff responded immediately and the individuals were removed from campus. In line with our safeguarding procedures, Greater Manchester Police were called. No weapons were involved, and no one required medical treatment. The matter was dealt with on the day, no further action has been required, and the Open Day continued as planned.
We understand that this may have caused concern, and we want to reassure our students, families and community that the safety and wellbeing of everyone at Xaverian is always our first priority. We have well-established procedures in place at all our events, and these worked as they should.
We are aware of speculation and inaccurate information being shared online that does not reflect what happened. Sharing unverified claims can cause real distress, so we ask everyone to rely on official updates from the College, to think carefully before posting or sharing, and to avoid speculation.
Xaverian isĀ a Catholic College,Ā aĀ communityĀ ofĀ learning, faith and service. Our values guide how we look after everyone who comes through our doors, and they guide how we are responding now.Ā
Our next Open Day on Sunday 18th October 2026 will go ahead as planned, with our usual arrangements in place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly.
