At Xaverian College we want to ensure that all students have the opportunity to flourish and continue to develop so that they leave college with the high level skills as well as the outstanding qualifications that are required to become the leaders of the future. There are a number of ways Xaverian works to ensure excellence.
This is an entry level course for students with few prior qualifications, and is designed to equip you with essential skills before moving on to further study at level 2 or into employment. Xaverian students have progressed from foundation, through level 2 and advanced level, and to university.
As well as being invited to the New Students’ Day, students interested in our Medical Professionals Programme will be invited to an additional day. This day will feature additional practical lessons as well as guest speakers from university admissions departments and industry professionals such as GPs and surgeons. Additionally we will explain what is required in the next two years of study in order for you to be prepared for your journey ahead.
At the moment almost 30 former Xaverian are studying at Oxford and Cambridge. To help this progress we have an extensive programme to guide you and prepare you with the skills that are necessary so you can make a competitive application.
Set on university and ready to master the study skills you’ll need to thrive?
The one-year EPQ (the equivalent to half an A-level) is your chance to learn the research and critical thinking skills required for higher education-level study while developing a 5,000-word analysis or impressive creative artefact relating to a topic you adore. The EPQ also qualifies for UCAS points, whatever grade you achieve will give you half the UCAS points that you would get for the full A-level equivalent (e.g. 28 points for an A* as opposed to 56 for the full A-level).
All students on A-level and Applied courses can apply for the EPQ after settling in at Xaverian.
