We are delighted to announce that Xaverian College has been awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark, a national accreditation recognising excellence in supporting care-experienced students into and through further education.
This recognition places Xaverian among six other providers in the Greater Manchester Combined Authority region to receive this accolade, alongside Bury College, Hopwood Hall College, Oldham Sixth Form College, St John Rigby College and Wigan & Leigh College.
The NNECL Quality Mark is far more than a symbol, it confirms that Xaverian has:
- Embedded robust support systems tailored for care-experienced and estranged students, helping to improve access, retention and attainment
- Fostered a culture of belonging and equity, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported regardless of circumstances
- Demonstrated commitment to closing gaps in educational opportunity and creating life chances for students who might face extra barriers
Care-experienced young people often encounter disrupted schooling, financial pressures and less consistent family support. These factors can impede progression into further education and success thereafter.
With this achievement, Xaverian signals its determination to not only welcome these students, but to empower them to thrive.
