The general rule 

College Entry Requirements reflect the College’s commitment to ensure that the curriculum is accessible and that applicants are able to pursue a full-time education programme at a level appropriate to their Key Stage 4 qualifications.

For a Level 3 Programme, the College requires a minimum of six GCSE passes, of which at least two must be at Grade 6 or above, and at least four at Grade 5 or above.

This is a minimum requirement for advanced level courses, and individual subjects have their own specific course entry requirements. You’ll find these below.

Music Technology

Applied Course

Grade 4 in English Language, Mathematics and Music, or a Pass from BTEC Music

Philosophy, Ethics & Theology

A Level

Grade 5 in English Language 

Photography

A Level

Grade 5 in Art or Photography, or a Merit or above if you’ve taken an art-related BTEC. If you haven’t studied a related course, we’ll ask you to submit a portfolio of work for consideration

Physics

A Level

Grade 6 and 6 across two sciences and Grade 7 in Mathematics. One Grade 6 must be in Physics if you are taking separate sciences. You must also take Mathematics A Level as one of your subject choices

Grade 5 in English Language 

Psychology

A Level

Grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics
