At Xaverian College, our students stand tall ready for lofty futures.

That’s why we found the perfect partnership in the Manchester Giants, our city’s high-flying basketball team.

If you’re already a basketball addict and have designs on becoming a pro, the Manchester Giants Academy at Xaverian College could be where both your academic and sporting dreams come true.

Every year, the prized opportunity is gifted to those with the potential to excel in study and hoops.

Get selected and you’ll split your week between college and the court.

Four afternoons a week training with Manchester Giants, currently riding high in the top-tier British Basketball League. Three mornings and one full day on campus.

Ready to be a giant in your field? We look forward to you having a ball at the Manchester Giants Academy.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to demonstrate a track record of playing basketball to a high standard

Studying with us

We expect that all Academy students will take at least one block of Sport BTEC* as part of the Academy programme of study, which you can combine with any two of our A-Levels, or equivalent Applied/BTEC subjects.

*The Sport BTEC course is available as one, two and three-block options, equivalent to the same number of A-Levels. Applicants can choose any of these options and combine with other subjects as appropriate.

Take it to your high school for the Head of Year (or a similar manager) to complete your predicted GCSE grades and reference.
