Xaverian College in Manchester has achieved remarkable success, with a 100% pass rate across all applied courses in the 2025 academic year.
78% of students achieved high grades of DMM or above for Applied Science, Business, Health & Social Care, Music Technology, IT and Sport, underscoring the College’s commitment to excellence in vocational education.
Natalia Duodo, former St Paul’s Catholic High School pupil, achieved grades BC in A Level French and Law and a Merit in CTEC Health & Social Care. She said: “Studying at Xaverian has been great! The Campus is beautiful, the subjects are interesting and the community is so diverse. I was really nervous before seeing my results, but I know I tried my best and that’s what counts. I will be progressing to Nottingham Trent University to study Biomedical Science which is really exciting!”
Matilda Kitson, who achieved A*A in A Level Graphic Communication, Fine Art and a Merit in BTEC Business, has gained a place to study Art Foundation at Manchester Metropolitan University, with hopes to then progress to the University of the Arts London to study a Degree in Graphic Design. She commented: “It was a mixture of nerves and excitement waiting to see my results this morning. I am eager to start university and hone in on what I want to specialise in within graphics and refine my style. My time at Xaverian has been great. All of my teachers were so helpful and the learning environment here is really inspiring. This makes you want to push yourself to succeed! I have also met so many new friends and felt so welcomed by the wider community.”
Tyra Chimponda, former Newman RC College pupil, achieved grades CC in A Level Media Studies, Psychology and a Merit in BTEC Applied Science. Commenting on her success, she said: “I am really excited to progress to the University of Salford to study Psychology! I love meeting new people, so it will be nice to immerse myself in a new environment. My time at Xaverian was special. I never felt alone, I knew I could always ask for help, my teachers were incredibly supportive, and I really did feel like part of the Xaverian community.”

Building upon this success, Xaverian College is set to introduce new Alternative Academic Qualifications (AAQs) in Applied Science, Medical Science, Health and Social Care, Early Childhood Development, Mental Heath – Individuals & Society and IT. These qualifications aim to further enhance the applied curriculum, providing students with more tailored and industry-relevant learning experiences. The introduction of AAQs aligns with the College’s strategic vision to offer a comprehensive and future-ready educational pathway for students pursuing vocational careers.
Gaynor continued: “Looking ahead, we are excited to introduce the new AAQs, which will build on our existing applied offer. These qualifications will provide students with even more opportunities to develop practical skills, gain industry-relevant knowledge, and prepare for success in their chosen careers.”
